Wow… 3 years sure has changes in almost anything…3 years ago, when I renewed my license,I still had to undergo the urine test for drugs which cost around 300 pesos making renewal of your drivers license a bit expensive..
One of the things I like most that the government has started doing is that they have put up alternate or satellite offices in most malls for LTO,NBI and even passport renewals..
The LTO satellite office in SM Manila is located in the 5th floor in the opposite side of the DFA in the other end.
2 things I like with what happened today compared to 3 years ago – before, I had to run there during lunch, wait till the lunch break was over before I could get it renewed – besides the fact that it took me less than an hour also..This time – it seems that they have the no lunch break policy too.. that means when I got there around 1230, I was already able to start the process of renewal..
1st step. go to window 1.. get the form.. fill up the form… 2nd step – go to medical – pay 200 php.. quick eye check up and some questions.. then submit to window 1..wait for them to call you in the picture and signature section… after that – cashier.. then wait about 10 to 20 mins for your license in releasing.. then its done!
Less than an hour.. and you have your new license!! viola!
And to top it off.. the employees there were nice and helpful!
Smart Keeps on Blaming Globe for Black Ops.. we’ve heard this before , I’ve wrote it here before.. I didnt think it would go on further, but it seems that it is and has.. One there are only 2 competitors in the market, when one cries foul, its usually simple common sense that the one crying is alluding to something the other did or blaming them.
It seems that the Smart or Smart supporters are really selective on those they let comment – hahaha.. most of the blogs that posted the black ops thing are either friends of Smart or smart ambassadors or related to smart somehow…

Regarding the missing comments, in the earlier post I made about pot calling kettle black – big time bloggers in unbox and ople – also posted about the black ops thing -and lo and behold – if you visit them again – all the negative comments of their readers bashing them for being one sided has already been erased.
And since Smart is claiming the High Ground as saying they were attacked and everything, how come one of their own is saying that it’s them? Here’s the link
TO add insult to injury, Postpaid subscribers have started complaining that their browsing speed has actually slowed down – yes its true -well at least for me. And on a funny note – if the network was so great – how come this happened?

Anyone here have bad experiences about Tides Grill and Bistro besides me? Well, the other day, before going home, I decided to have 2 bottles for the road.. and the only Bar in sight that was open was Tides.. So even though I was by myself.. I decided to drop by… So I ordered 2 bottles of San Mig Light and a pulutan. Even ordering already took about 10 minutes. Another 5 minutes to get the beer and another 10 minutes or more to get the pulutan.. When I initially ordered I already requested the waiter to also bring the bill already so I can pay for it already.
When the pulutan came – I was already on my second beer, I paid for the bill and asked to waiter to bring a 3rd bottle and paid for it also. So, everything was fine.. finished my beers and food and decided to go – and viola! the bouncers would not let me out coz the stupid waiter didnt give me my receipt and though I was skipping my bill.. Hay – just imagine if I was drunk?…. I told them I paid already and the waiter didnt give me anything..took them about a minute to sort it all out – with the bouncer just smiling at me when he let me pass. Talk about poor customer service!!!

How are you guys? I’ve been busy lately so no posts – sorry about that. Well, I just heard and read bout the issues circulating now in the internet about the so called #blackops of a telco company against its rival that recently announced a promo service. Well, lets be straight – people fromt he camp of Smart Telecommunications are all but naming who is behing the #blackops thing in twitter and facebook about twitter bots bashing them and praising the other one.
Well, hell.. this issue would not have been even noticed if a known smart supporter didnt bring attention to it and started blaming the other side. Going as far as cursing on twitter and facebook. Even well known blogs have posted semi biased articles siding with Smart Telecommunications.
It’s a good thing that some people are actually thinking for themselves.

Read the comments here… Im not pro globe or pro smart – I use the service of both telcos since I need to since I need to call people and text people on both sides.
They’re At It Again: Black Ops Slamming Smart’s Free Internet Offer
What I dont understand is how can they reach the conclusion immediately that it’s the other side? And if its bots spreading the #liemorepa hashtag – so what? Those are bots with no real followers!
I find this crazyand a waste of time and resources for those that are making the noise.. Hehehe.. Sabagay yung mga maingay nasa campo ata ng maingay din How come none of the identified people that are friends with Globe making noise as well? hehehe Baka kasi dapat hindi na patulan?
Well, I for one will use both – mas gusto ko nga lang FREE FB kasi mas madalas yun ang gamitin ko.
You read the title right. Whoever though of it and got all the cities going with it was stupid. Yes, I am talking about the Plastic thingee law that we have had for around a year or so. I first encountered the stupidity before n tagaytay as I drove through Jolibee on the way back to Manila and bought dinner – Sir, we dont have straws cozs its not allowed on specific days because its against the law. In fairness they did use a paper cup – stupid since the cover was still plastic. Now today in McDonalds in Emerald Ave, I bought 2 meals for take out for me and my son.. I asked for straws since we were supposed to drink and eat in the car as we needed to be somewhere else.. Sorry Sir.. Its Strawless Friday po. Stupid implementation and not thought through.. The cups were plastic. And do these stupid politicians even know how hard and inconvenient it is to keep removing the lid to drink? Especially for a 5 year old?
Now dont get me wrong – its nice that businesses are forced to try and be environment friendly. But did the guys behind the law think to compel the companies to provide alternative means like force them to provide paper straws or something else?
I guess thats one of the problems in the Philippines.. our lawmakers like to come p with has assed, stupid, brainless solutions.. God Save the Philippines.
Anti Selfie Bill in the Philippines or House Bill No. 4807 is a law that I call stupid!! I understand what they are trying to do is to protect people from being abused and things like that. But it seems that the bill is like the cybercrime bill. A law that’s not thought out well and just implemented coz the lawmaker feels like it.
According to news reports congressmen on both sides of the fence doesnt actually like the bill. Then if they dont like it? How did it pass the 2nd reading in congress? Right? Is it it like the way they passed the cybercrime bill in a big pile of bills that just get passed automatically unless someone says nay?
And who is the bright man responsible for this bill? Rep. Rufus Rodriguez of the 2nd District of Cagayan de Oro.
“It’s a clear violation of freedom of expression. The law on “selfie” has no place in a civilized and democratic society,” reckoned 1-BAP party-list Rep. Silvestre Bello III, who is a former solicitor general and Justice secretary.
Under the proposed bill, the following acts will be considered an intrusion into the personal privacy of another and at the same time presumed to have been committed with the intent to gain or profit:
“1. The capturing by a camera or sound recording instrument of any type of visual image, sound recording or other physical impression of the person
“2. Trespassing on private property in order to capture any type of visual image, sound recording or other physical impression of any person, and
“3. Capturing any type of visual image, sound recording or other physical impression of a person or family activity through the use of a visual or auditory enhancement device even when no physical trespass has occurred, when the visual image, sound recording or other physical impression could not have been captured without a trespass if no enhancement device was used.
Section 4 of the bill says any person whose personal privacy was intruded as defined, may file a civil action against the person who committed the intrusion, obtain any appropriate relief, including compensatory damages, punitive damages, and injunctive and declaratory relief.
And here’s the kicker – you cant file charges against the cops …. Only “legitimate law enforcement activities” are exempted from the Act.
Wahahah – talk about a one sided thing. I really hope this bill doesnt pass.
Congress -Please stop creating stupid laws and focus on the things that matter.

Wow! I passed by BGC the other day to meet with a friend of mine, and heavy traffic greeted me. Why? It was the day that Globe Telecom had their slipstream event bringing in Marlon Stockinger with his F1 racing car along with the Ducati Riders Club and other vintage cars.
What a treat for guys. It’s like the Toys for Big Boys showroom with the plus that the cars and motorcycles are all moving!!!
A plus for the girls since Marlon Stockinger was there.

The problem with Tandem Riding Robbers have been persistent since the dawn of time. Well, most likely just from the time people started riding horses. But, now – it’s more persistent with the ease of buying motorcycles, the anonymity of wearing helmets and other factors.
Robbers using this kind of method has been a big problem for law enforcers and everyone else. Heck, one of my neighbors got robbed the same way in front of our house a couple of years back.
Having a problem like this is hard to solve, how do you know they are robbers? How can you tell? How can you catch them. Well, as the saying goes – prevention is always better than the what? heheheh.
So what do you think of Mandaluyong Newest Ordinance. No Tandem Riding for 2 guys – if not father and son. What about brothers? Cousins? Grand pa and Grandson?

I knew it was just a matter of time before something bad happened with the MRT in the Philippines. Why?
Having been a witness to the overloading, overcrowding thats been happening the past few months, it was just a matter of time before user fatigue or equioment failure set in.

To the managemnt of the MRT please upgrade your equipment. Its sad with what happened and now because of that. You have put fear in people to ride. And possibly cause people to lose sleep or be late going home or hoing to work since you might not be operating in the next couple of days.
I wonder how many people got hurt and what happened to the motorcycle that got hit.?
According to news reports, more than 40 people got hurt.
