A School in a No school Zone

For anyone passing through the area of Miriam College and Ateneo every morning, lunch and afternoon, rush hour traffic is common due to the schools and other establishments. The other day, I stumbled onto a blog in the other provider – blogspot.com that was talking about another school that was supposed to be built. You can read details here: http://notomiiskatipunan.blogspot.com/2014/07/no-to-planned-miis-school-along.html

Why am I ranting about this? No.1 the area is a no school zone based on the ordinances of the city. That means no more additional schools can be built. Then why is this school MIIS (  Multiple Intelligence International School ) still planning to build a school there? Who is backing it and making it happen? Well, Who else but a politician… the same one that sold the lot to MIIS and the same one that authored the ordinance for no schools. Ironic isnt it?

Another point is the stupidity of the school.. did they nt check the area 1st? It’s very near the fault line in Quezon City. They plan to put a 10 story building there? what will happen when an earthquake hits? The building falls down on the subdivision behind it.

Another point is that – its a regulation that schools are not allowed to be put up in major thoroughfares! And is Katipunan Ave not a major thorough fare?

My god – what is happening here? Violating City ordinances, Violating Deped Guidelines. Putting Children and the surrounding communities at risk and causing more traffic in the City!!

Metrobank has one of the fastest customer service hotlines

Metrobank has one of the fastest customer service hotlines. And its ironic since Metrobank is not my primary bank – its my secondary. I have 3 accounts in BDO that I use for the office, and funny thing is, I dont even know the manager of the nearest branch where I transact.

And a couple of months ago, I changed the password to my online banking, then I promptly forgot. So I clicked the password option thingee since I needed to do a funds transfer asap. 45 minutes passed, no email, so I opted to call customer service to have it reset or resend -and what did they say? They have no access!! Wow!.. what use if the customer hotline if you cant help me?

I got locked out with my online banking for metrobank and called them – they asked about 4 questions – viola!! Its done… If only Metrobank had a branch near me…

Good Job Metrobank!

Guard in Starbucks BOOBOO

Hehehehe. Booboo – means mistake – some people might think its bobo. Hahahah

Just wanted to share this slightly funny, scary story I experienced just this morning. I went to one one the starbucks branches somewhere in Manila to have coffee and wait for my Kids to go home from school.( its exam week and the wait would be just around 3 hours. It’ll take about 30 mins for me to get home and another 45 minutes to go back just to fetch them)

So when I got to the store it was around 6:55 am and it was still closed so I waited outside.

After a couple of minutes the guard opened the door, so me and the 2 other people waiting were able to go in. So I decided to out down my laptop bag first in one of those 4 seat clusters of sofas.

And what did I see tucked into the side of the sofa? The 9mm gun of the guard who was by the counter. Hehehehe. At 1st I was curious, I thought it was a toy. Then I realized it was a gun. Damn. hahaha.

Lucky it wasnt in the USA or, some gun freak crazy ass person might have picked it up and just start shooting.

What happened after that? The guard realized that his gun was there and got it.Me? I was on my way to the counter by then.

End of story. hehehe
